Welcome Management Guest
You have probably arrived at this page by following a link from outside of this site.
Participating in education and training courses will generally involve a payment to the education or training provider by the course participant. Exceptions are when the course is funded by government or some other body.
On the Frontline Management page of this web site are details of the units of work involved in the Certificate IV in Frontline Management course and the cost of this course. This cost is fully covered if you are eligible for government funding for the course. The full government funding if eligible is $4,000 and Professional Performance Australia charges only $3,600 for the course which includes a licence for our Premium MindSights software package.
If you are not eligible for government funding, you may still participate in the course as a fee-for-service participant, at the same cost.
The nationally accredited Diploma of Management does not currently attract any government funding for course participants. It can however be completed through Professional Performance Australia (PPA) for the same cost as the Certificate IV in Frontline Management. That is $3,600 as the total course cost. Enquire about PPA’s flexible delivery options.
Are you already in a management role?
Perhaps you already have a leadership/management role. The Diploma of Management is a competency-based course. That is, if you can provide the proof that you are already competent in the required aspects of the course, you will be able to obtain the award without necessarily completing many hypothetical assignments. “Real life” evidence is more relevant and important.
This RPL/RCC evidence I have explained more fully below. However, if you are able to provide this for us, it will greatly reduce the time we will need to spend with you in a “training” situation. Most of our time will be spent assessing.
Saving time is saving money. We will pass those saving on to you with significantly reduced participation fees. Contact us for details. The work required for completion of the Diploma of Management is listed on the Diploma of Management link. This link is to the National Training Information Service web site for the Diploma of Management.
Assessment requirements for course participants
Participants in any competency-based course need to prove that they are in fact competent in all performance criteria associated with all elements of all units that are contained in the course before they can be awarded the Certificate or Diploma. There are in addition other requirements such as underpinning knowledge which also need to be assessed for the course.
As adults we already have many skills and competencies that we have obtained through our life’s experiences in addition to formal courses which we may have undertaken. Recognition of this knowledge and these competencies in competency-based training in Australia is referred to as Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Recognition of Current Competencies. Often the acronyms RPL/RCC are used for these terms.
Types of evidence that could be submitted for Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current Competency
- Curriculum Vitae which indicates that the competency/skill has been learned and applied in a work/interest context
- Job Descriptions (past and current) which also indicate that a specific skill or competency is a requirement of the position held
- Testimonials which provide an indication of specific skills/competencies having been acquired and/or applied in a work or interest context from:
o supervisors/managers o customers o colleagues o other respected community members
- Certified copies of any certificates, awards, educational/training programs completed which align to the competency standards of the award being sought.
- Copies of evidence of work conducted, eg..
o reports, memos from or to managers or customers/clients/staff o policy documents developed and implemented/managed by the RPL/RCC candidate o any written documentation which supports the application for RPL/RCC against the competency standards for the Award being sought
RPL/RCC templates
If you plan on completing the RPL/RCC process for this course, you will be given an RPL/RCC template for each unit in which you are enrolled. An example is given below for the Manage Projects unit of work in the Diploma course.

It is published here with permission of the participant concerned, and is for perusal purposes only. Obviously the evidence submitted in this example will be unique for the participant involved.
